Hopkinsville man charged with assault, strangulation

A Hopkinsville man is facing charges of assault and strangulation after he allegedly attacked a woman in a vehicle on Cumbee Road Sunday.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the 4000 block of Cumbee Road, where they made contact with the victim.  The victim informed deputies that while she riding in a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Kenneth Evans from a friend’s house, she asked to stop for a restroom break.

Evans allegedly became enraged and assaulted her—the victim had visible injuries to her face, bruising around her neck and scratch marks on her arm.

Evans was arrested and charged with first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief.
