Grind Session basketball tourney set for HHS this week

Eleven of the nation’s top boys’ high school basketball teams will be converging on Hopkinsville this week to battle for the final spot in the Grind Session Power Conference, the largest collection of elite boys prep basketball programs from across the United States and Canada.

Teams participating in the play-in tournament include Colorado Prep, Iowa United, Minnesota Prep, Quality Education, Rosemary Anderson (Oregon), SFBA Trinity Prep (Nevada), St. John’s DME (Wisconsin), Victory Rock Prep (Florida), Wesley Christian (Kentucky), West Oaks (Florida) and Wilson Academy (Georgia).

The tournament will feature single-elimination games where the teams will face off in a do-or-die situation. The winner of the tournament earns the final spot in the Grind Session Power Conference.

The tournament, which will feature some of the top high school basketball prospects in the country, will take place Thursday through Sunday.

Games begin at 5 p.m. Thursday and conclude with the championship game at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $15 per session at the door. Games also can be seen live on Tanagersports.tv.
