Mother Nature was the only winner of the Boys’ Region 2 Golf Tournament on Monday in Owensboro.
After several lengthy weather delays, the tournament was stopped around 6:30 p.m. Monday night with many golfers still on the course. The event was scheduled to resume this morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. However, the start was pushed back to 10 a.m.
Hopkinsville’s Wade Foster had completed 12 holes and was 2-under, according to Tigers’ coach Edwin White.
Meanwhile, Christian County coach Stacy Crick said all her golfers were between holes 15 and 18 when the horn blew on Monday.
University Heights Academy coach Brandon Grace said all of his players were between holes 9 and 12 at the conclusion of play on Monday.
Heritage Christian Academy had two golfers in the tournament and both finished play. Brad Powell carded an 85 and Cruz Egbert finished with a 97.
The top two teams and the 10 individuals not on the top two teams qualify for the state tournament first round, which is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
