Police arrest Hopkinsville man for robbery following alleged assault

Hopkinsville Police arrested 19-year-old Alyshawaughn Hicks of Hopkinsville for robbery after he reportedly assaulted a minor and forced them to remove their clothes on Friday.

According to a report from police, officers made contact with the victim who was walking on 17th Street with no clothes on and they told officers they were at someone’s house when Hicks came and started yelling at them.

Hicks then went on to allegedly assault the victim which resulted in bruising and swelling to the victim’s face and head. The assault was witnessed by multiple people who attempted to separate the pair, but Hicks continued to reportedly strike the victim.

Following the assault, Hicks stood over the victim and reportedly instructed for the victim to take of their clothes or he was going to shoot and kill them. The victim complied and removed their clothes before leaving the residence.

At the location of the assault, officers made contact with Hicks and reportedly had to use force in order to detain him. Before being taken into custody, Hicks allegedly admitted to getting into a fight with the victim and forcing them to remove their clothes.

Hicks was charged with second-degree robbery, unlawful transaction with a minor/illegal sex act, resisting arrest and second-degree disorderly conduct.
