A Providence resident was killed in a collision involving a train in Muhlenberg County Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to KY 70 around 4:45 p.m. to investigation the crash that had occurred approximately eight miles east of Madisonville.
Preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Roxana Allison of Providence was heading westbound on KY-70, and collided with a train as it crossed over KY 70, heading east.
Allison was declared deceased at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner.
SP was assisted on scene by the Muhlenberg Sheriff’s Office, EMS, Fire and Rescue, Muhlenberg County Coroner’s Office, Highway Department, P&L personnel, and Kentucky Department of Transportation.
