Tigers face high-powered Paducah offense

The Hopkinsville Tigers will open up Class 4-A, District 1 play tonight when the No. 2-ranked Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado invade the Stadium of Champions.

Hoptown will be looking to slow down a powerful Paducah offense led by quarterback Jack James, who has thrown for just over 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He leads the state in passing entering this weekend.

James also has impressed Hoptown coach Dustin Lopez.

The Tigers are led by quarterback Aiden King, who has thrown for 806 yards and three scores. His top receiving target is Treston Kay, who is fifth in the state in receving with 16 catches for 356 yards and six touchdowns.

Hoptown enters the game 1-3 and Paducah is 4-0. The Tigers have won seven of the last 10 meetings, but lost last year’s game 44-14. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. today with airtime at 6:30 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
