Trigg County and visiting Hopkinsville had to go five sets before the Lady Wildcats were able to claim a 3-2 win Tuesday night in a high school volleyball match.
Trigg won the first two sets 26-24, 25-19 before Hoptown rebounded to win the next two 25-15, 25-23 setting up a dramatic fifth set.
The Lady Wildcats broke through to claim a 15-12 win for their first victory of the season. Hoptown had beaten Trigg 3-0 earlier in the year.
Madysen Taggart led Hopkinsville with five kills, one block, 12 aces and five digs. Saralynn Major had three kills and two aces. Lainey Stewart had six assists and Kyleigh Weber provided one assist, four digs and one ace. Danaja Wheeler had three digs and one ace.
Hopkinsville is now 1-8 on the season.
The Lady Tigers won the freshman match 2-0 and also claimed the JV match 2-0.
