Tennessee man charged following multi-county high speed pursuit

A Tennessee man was arrested and is facing numerous charges after he allegedly led law enforcement on a multi-vehicle pursuit Wednesday evening.

According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, it started on Interstate 24 near the 42-mile-marker when troopers patrolling in the area saw a vehicle traveling over 100 miles per hour while heading westbound. When the driver reportedly failed to yield for a traffic stop, a pursuit began.

The pursuit would make its way through Lyon, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken counties before it was brought to an end by the successful deployment of a tire deflation device. There was a standoff at the vehicle, where the driver—identified as 29-year-old Evin Rion of Lebanon, Tennessee—allegedly refused to comply with commands and was behaving erratically.

He was eventually taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, second-offense DUI and numerous traffic violations.
