United States Senator Rand Paul is looking to garner support for his Six Penny Plan and the REINS Act—but that’s easier said than done in Washington D.C., where he represents Kentucky.
Whether he’s back home in the Commonwealth or hearing from constituents in Washington, Senator Paul says the main thing at the forefront of everyone’s minds is inflation and the hardships it’s putting on families across the board. Paul says the only way to get inflation under control is to get government spending under control.
One way he wants to get that taken care of is by passing his Six Penny Plan—a similar plan to his long-fought Penny Plan—but it takes it up to a higher level in an effort to get what he calls overspending under control.
Along with accurate and strict budgeting across all government agencies, Senator Paul thinks his proposed REINS Act could help matters. The REINS Act would make it so federal agencies would have to get approval from Congress before enacting any ‘major rules’.
As for matters such as the Farm Bill, Paul says it will likely get extended, which is not unheard of, before they can come to an agreement on a final version.
