Despite a strong game from Madysen Taggart, the host Hopkinsville Lady Tigers dropped a 3-1 high school volleyball match to Hopkins County Central Monday night.
All four sets were close with Hopkinsville taking the first, 25-23. However, the Lady Storm rebounded to edge the Lady Tigers 27-25 in the second set. Hopkins Central then slipped past Hoptown 25-22 before winning the fourth set, 25-17.
Taggart had seven kills, three blocks, five digs, and three aces to pace Hoptown (1-5).
Saralynn Major had a pair of kills, one assist and two aces and Abriel Suber had two kills and a dig.
Hopkinsville returns to action Thursday night against Heritage Christian in a District 8 game at Tiger Gym.
