Christian County High School sophomore Nolen Long recently competed in the prestigious Bommarito Audi West Gateway Cup bicycle series in St. Louis.
Long who raced on four consecutive days on four separate courses in neighborhoods around St. Louis against the top junior riders in the country finished 15th, 18th, 18th, and 28th out of 80 competitors.
It was the 39th year of the event and is considered one of the cornerstones on the national road racing scene.
Last weekend finished Long’s road racing season and he begins training for the Cyclocross National Championships in December in Louisville.
The Christian County sophomore also runs cross country for the Colonels.
He is the 15-year-old son of Mike and Mindy Long of Hopkinsville.
