The first fleeting feelings of fall are on the air across the region, as the dry spell looks to continue with downright pleasant temperatures in store.
Below average temperatures are in store this first full week of September, with highs only making it into the 80’s during the day, and Forecaster Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says that will fall even further down into the 70’s by the weekend.
The chances for rain look to remain pretty minimal this week, with most places likely not getting any rainfall at all.
Drought conditions have officially settled into the region, with all of western Kentucky listed as ‘abnormally dry’, with burn bans already starting to pop-up. Trevino says dry spells like this can be hard to break, so she expects those conditions to only worsen.
Then, in the 8-to-14 day outlook, it’s looking like more of the same—below average temperatures and below average chances of precipitation.
