The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Friday morning after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.
According to a news release, the victim and 27-year-old Geovonte Poindexter of Hopkinsville were in a verbal altercation when the argument turned physical. Poindexter allegedly attacked the victim, who suffered a laceration to the lip and a bite mark on her neck.
Poindexter then reportedly took the victim’s phone and when she tired to stop him, he allegedly tased her on her arm.
He fled the scene but was located quickly and taken into custody. Poindexter is charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
