University Heights Academy opened up District 8 volleyball play with a 3-0 victory over host Hopkinsville on Thursday night.
UHA jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the first set on the way to a 25-11 win.
The Lady Tigers (0-2) strengthened their play in the next two sets, but the Lady Blazers were able to come away with 25-21, 25-20 victories in those sets.
Olivia Oakley led UHA with nine kills and three digs. Kenady Quarles also had three digs.
Niyati Patel had six kills and a block. Kylie Lambert had three kills for UHA, which improved to 2-0 overall.
Hopkinsville’s statistics were not available.
