Princeton Police have charged a woman after she allegedly forced her way onto a school bus Tuesday morning while under the influence.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 600 block of Fairview Church Road in Princeton around 6:40 a.m. for reports that an intoxicated woman had entered a school bus. Contact was made with the bus driver, who informed the officers that the woman had originally attempted to get on the bus through the loading door and was unsuccessful.
That’s when the suspect—identified as 45-year-old Amanda Cansler of Princeton—was able to make entry onto the bus through the back door as the driver was pulling away.
The bus driver radioed for help before stopping the bus and putting himself between Cansler and the students on board. Cansler was allegedly talking strangely and acting erratically, and was also seen holding a folding knife. Cansler exited the bus after a few minutes and officers were able locate her in the woods, hiding in a ditch nearby.
She was taken into custody and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, public intoxication and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.
