Christian County will head to Fort Campbell tonight for its second and final high school football scrimmage.
The Colonels will meet Clarksville Northeast at 7 p.m. and Clarksville Northwest in the Border Wars Jamboree at Fryar Stadium.
The Colonels are coming off a scrimmage last week against Louisville Fairdale and Louisville Central, one of the top teams in the state.
First-year Christian County coach Ethan Atchley said he had mixed feelings about his team’s first scrimmage, but knows the experience will help his team going into this week and the season.
The Colonels are coming off a 2-9 season a year ago, but Atchley said he has the talent to be competitive this year. He said playing teams like Louisville Central will help his team get better.
Atchley said he wants to see more improvement out of his offensive and defensive lines tonight at the jamboree. He also wants to see more players in action tonight.
He said he feels like his team is ahead of where it was last year and has more depth. He is looking to get a gauge of his team tonight and is excited about the start of the regular season next week.
Tickets to tonight’s jamboree are 8 dollars and only cash will be accepted at the gate.
The Colonels open the regular season Aug. 23 at Warren East.
