Tigers, Panthers tie 14-14 in grid scrimmage

The varsity squads for the Hopkinsville and Russellville high school football teams battled to a 14-14 tie in both teams’ first scrimmage Thursday night at the Stadium of Champions.

The Tigers held the Panthers scoreless in the first half, but took a 7-0 lead with 14 seconds left in the second period on a long pass from Aiden King to Treston Kay.

Hopkinsville’s second and final scrimmage is August 15 when it travels to Louisville to take on Fairdale.

The Tigers open the regular season August 23 in Bowling Green against Greenwood.
