Hopkinsville’s Downtown Farmers Market is in full swing and on Thursday, August 1 the organizers are hosting a Kid’s Night Out and a Customer Appreciation Night at the market.
Holly Boggess and Emalee Hudson from Community and Development Services appeared on WHOP on Wednesday to spotlight upcoming events set for the farmers market. Thursday’s market will feature craft and agriculture-based activities including a cow milking station, free caricature drawings, food trucks and give aways along with their regular vendors.
The give aways also include basket prizes which will contain fresh produce, t-shirts, a cutting board and much more. One basket will go to a lucky child and will include baby Yoda goodies such as a Yoda plushie and blanket.
On August 15, the market is partnering with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library for a Back to School Bash and Boggess says students can design pencil pouches and enjoy popsicles. On August 29, the market is partnering with the Hopkinsville Brewing Company for Bite Night.
Then on August 14, tickets go on sale for the eighth annual Farm to Table Dinner which is set for September 27 and will be catered by The Mixer. The dinner will take place at the market’s location and will feature meals made with locally sourced ingredients.
The market is open each Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Downtown Hopkinsville at the pavilion near the corner of East 9th Street and Main Street.
