The Madisonville Police Department reportedly stopped a murder attempt before it could happen Monday and a man is facing charges.
According to a news release, officers were patrolling in the area of West Broadway Street near Lawrence Street in Madisonville, when they observed a man, they knew to be Charles Pillow, who had an active warrant out for his arrest.
He was taken into custody and a search of his person allegedly revealed a handgun. While in police custody, Pillow reportedly made several verbal remarks that he had planned on killing another man but had been stopped by law enforcement.
Pillow had been approximately a block away from the intended victim’s residence when he was stopped by police. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, disorderly conducted, alcohol intoxication in a public place and non-payment of court costs.
