Pedestrian killed in collision on the Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkins Co.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is releasing details a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway Monday afternoon. 

According to a news release, it happened just before 3:45 p.m. near the 29-mile-marker, just north of the Christian County line. Investigation determined that 59-year-old Dewey Huff Jr. of Clarksville had been assisting a semi-truck with changing a flat tire in the emergency lane of the Parkway.

Huff had reportedly finished the tire change was in the right-lane of travel speaking with the driver of the semi, when he was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 36-year-old Luke Warden of Columbus, Georgia.

Huff was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Officer, and the collision remains under investigation.
