The Christian County High School volleyball team went 4-4 and won their bracket last weekend at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington.
The Lady Colonels dropped their opening matches Friday against Paintsville (16-21, 15-21) and Central Hardin (2-21, 7-21). They returned to pool play on Saturday with a loss to Bullitt Central (17-21, 16-21).
Christian County began heating up in the second match on Saturday, rebounding for a 22-20, 21-18 win over Calloway County. Louisville Seneca ended the Lady Colonels’ day on Saturday with a 21-19, 18-21, 8-15 loss.
During Sunday’s bracket play portion of the tournament, Christian County opened with a forfeit win over University Heights Academy. A late change in the schedule on Saturday night prevented the Lady Blazers from getting enough players to the Sunday match.
The Lady Colonels then defeated Williamsburg and Lloyd to win Flight 8.
