Gas rupture on Bill Bryan Boulevard results in evacuations

A gas rupture on Bill Bryan Boulevard Friday morning resulted in the evacuation of two facilities as firefighters worked to clear the air.

According to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers, work outside resulted in an exterior leak at Pepsi Cola around 8:15 a.m. Both Pepsi Cola and Plymouth Tube were evacuated due to the smell and wind direction.

Atmos Energy also responded to the scene and was able to close the leak. Once gas readings were clear on the interior of the facilities, the scene was given the all clear.
