With the start of high school football just a month away, Hopkinsville and Christian County have announced their scrimmage schedules.
Hopkinsville will play host to Russellville at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at it’s annual “Meet the Tigers” night.
A week later, on Aug. 15, Hoptown will travel to Louisville to face Fairdale at 5 p.m. local time.
The Tigers are coming off a 1-9 season, which saw them fail to make the playoffs. Under first-year head coach Dustin Lopez, Hopkinsville opens the regular season Aug. 23 in Bowling Green against Greenwood.
Meanwhile, Christian County will be on the road for both of its preseason scrimmages. The Colonels will travel to Graves County on Friday, Aug. 9 to take on the Eagles. A week later, Christian County will go on Post to meet Fort Campbell.
The Colonels are coming off a 2-9 season and are hoping for a better season under the leadership of new coach Ethan Atchley. Christian County will open the 2024 season Aug. 23 in Bowling Green against Warren East.
