The man sought by the Clarksville Police Department on attempted murder charges after failing to appear in court last week has turned himself in as of Wednesday morning.
According to a news release, 18-year-old Kwamey Sykes failed to appear before the Montgomery County Circuit Court, where he is facing charges of especially aggravated robbery, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony. The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on July 23, 2023 where a 15-year-old juvenile was shot on Eagles Bluff Drive.
Sykes was 17 years old at the time of the shooting and was transferred to adult status in November 2023 and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail at that time and posted a $50,000 bond.
