President Joe Biden has approved a Kentucky Disaster Declaration, paving the way for federal assistance funding to help communities that were impacted by severe storms at the end of May.
According to a release from FEMA, the counties included in the declaration are Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Christian, Clay, Greenup, Hopkins, Knox, Logan, Muhlenberg, Simpson, Todd, Trigg, Warren, and Whitley.
Funding assistance an include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
Residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-FEMA.
