A Princeton man is facing numerous charges following a pursuit that began on Dawson Road in Caldwell County Monday that resulted in multiple agencies being involved.
According to a news release from the Princeton Police Department, officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle operating at a high-rate of speed, but the driver reportedly failed to stop and fled down several streets.
The pursuit lasted for nearly an hour before the driver, identified as 30-year-old Joseph Pierce of Princeton, was stopped due to a bridge being under construction. He was allegedly under the influence and in possession of marijuana and pills.
He was arrested and charged with three counts of wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI, third-degree criminal mischief, multiple traffic violations including speeding, reckless driving and ten counts of disregarding a stop sign.
The Princeton Police Department was assisted by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and the Pennyrile Emergency Assistance Center.
