A Hopkinsville woman has been arrested following investigation into the overdose case of a one-year-old child.
According to a news release from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for reports that a 20-month-old child had overdosed on drugs and was being administered life-saving measures. The child was taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville for advanced treatment.
Detectives searched the home of the child, where they reportedly discovered a firearm, a quantity of pills believed to be fentanyl and marijuana. Four additional children in the home were removed and placed in the care of the Department of Children-Based Services.
Police arrested Jasmine Bartolo and charged her with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal abuse, trafficking in fentanyl and possession of marijuana.
