The Alhambra Theatre was a packed house for Saturday’s annual Brice Long Back-2-Back Foundation benefit concert which serves to raise funds for families in need during the holiday season.
The Back-2-Back foundation is in its 20th year of helping families in Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties have a good Christmas. Long says it’s been a blessing to be able to have a positive impact on his community and he is happy to have the band, McBride and the Ride there to celebrate with him.
Before the music got underway, Pennyroyal Arts Council Director, Margaret Prim announced that the theatre’s Green Room has been named to honor Long and his foundation.
Long also invited Brittanie Bogard onstage to share how the Back-2-Back foundation has impacted her. Last year, Bogard says she was contacted by the foundation and told that Christmas gifts had been bought for her family.
Bogard says the foundation’s help came at a time when she was not able to provide gifts for her family.
Following Bogard’s testimonial, Long took to the stage to play some of his songs before McBride and the Ride closed out an evening of great music. Later in the week the Back-2-Back Foundation will announce how much money was raised by this year’s benefit concert and so far since its inception the foundation has raised over $1 million for families in need.
