Challenge House celebrated its fourteenth annual AT&T (Attitude, Training and Teamwork) Program graduating class on Friday.
The two-week program features workforce and employment learning opportunities for teenagers. The 10 teens enrolled participated in workforce enrichment classes, resume and interview preparation, job shadowing and hands-on demonstrations.
At Friday’s ceremony, the graduates received a certificate, a $200 paycheck and a surprise gift including a new laptop, backpack and school supplies. AT&T’s Kentucky Regional Director of External Affairs, Amanda Lich, says she was honored to be a part of the surprise and work with Challenge House to provide laptops to the graduates.
District Eight Representative, Walker Thomas also congratulated the graduates and recognized the work they completed.
The graduating class included, Milah Comperry, Christian Lopez Goza, Donnie lee Howse, Aniyah Lewis, Demarcus Meritt, Te’andre Miller, Jasir McKnight, Robbie Tompkins, Jashiyah Wilson and Key’Ari Wilson.
Each graduate shared what their experience in the program was like and where they job shadowed. The graduates shadowed real estate agents, engineers, car mechanics and business owners.
Goza shadowed a real estate agent and shared that the program showed him the importance of finding a passion and following it.
Along with sponsoring the program, AT&T also donated 2,000 to Challenge House.
