Ascend Elements construction progressing, hiring process underway

Work is progressing full steam ahead at the construction site of the future Ascend Elements location near Pembroke, and the company has already begun the hiring process.

They hosted a job fair recently to fill numerous positions, and South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council Executive Director Carter Hendricks says officials were well pleased with the turn-out at their job fair—and they’re looking to keep on hiring.

He says they’re looking specifically for chemical operators and security guards, but they’ll have even more positions opening up before too long, which can be found on ascendelements.com.

Even those who aren’t looking for employment at Ascend have felt the impact of the ongoing construction efforts, especially on area roadways. Hendricks says that can be a headache, but it also shows that large announcements like Ascend can impact the economy in numerous ways, even before it’s built.

He says there will be some relief on the way, with the future widening of KY 115 already in the works, which will help relieve congestion and make that road safer for all who drive on it.
