The Kentucky Center of Statistic has released the unemployment rate for the state on June.
According to a news release, the seasonally adjusted preliminary June 2024 unemployment rate was 4.6 percent, reflecting no change from May. It is however, up .5 percent of a point from one year ago.
Labor force statistics, including the unemployment rate, are based upon estimates from the Current Population Survey of households. The survey is designed to measure trends in the number of people working and includes jobs in agriculture and individuals who are self-employed.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June 2024 was 4.1 percent, which was up from the 4 percent recorded for May 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
