After much success last year, the second annual West Side School reunion is set to take place in August and the invites are out to bring all the ‘westsiders’ back together again.
Former Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble and Circuit Judge John Atkins—to well-know ‘westsiders’—appeared on WHOP recently to put the word out, saying it’s set to take place August 3 at Casey Jones Distillery with live music, plenty of food and more to enjoy.
The west side is a subjective term when it comes to Hopkinsville, but both figure it was roughly the area from the river by the Judge-Executive’s Office to down past Arby’s on West Seventh Street—though others may have their own definition.
Mostly, the reunion is for those who went to the West Side School in Hopkinsville—some of which can still be found near Second Baptist Church.
The judges say they won’t discriminate—if you weren’t from the westside, you are still welcome to attend.
Judge Atkins says they’ve lost some classmates recently, and this will be a good way to connect with those still living and keep the memories alive. For more information on the event, contact Judge Atkins or follow the West Side School Reunion event page on Facebook.
