Two more charged in Todd Co. overdose death

Two more individuals have been arrested in connection with a fatal overdose in Todd County. 

According to the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, the investigation began on June 18 with the suspicious death of a 21-year-old in Elkton, where the toxicology report determined the cause of death to be an overdose of fentanyl.  Whitney Harper of Hopkinsville was recently arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter in relation to the death.

Now, further investigation has revealed that 62-year-old Kimberly Moorefield and 41-year-old Shannon Moorefield, both of Elkton, allegedly aided in the death of the victim. Shannon Moorefield allegedly provided the victim with additional substances before his death. 

Both were arrested and charged with complicity to second-degree manslaughter—Shannon Moorefield was additionally charged with trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in a controlled substance and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
