The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hopkinsville man following a reported assault on Old Madisonville Road Thursday.
According to a news release, the victim and 26-year-old Justin Cooper of Hopkinsville had been in an argument that escalated. Cooper allegedly wrapped his hands around the victim’s neck, impeding her ability to breathe before leaving the scene.
Cooper was located shortly after and taken into custody—he was charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
