After making landfall in Texas on Monday, Tropical Storm Beryl will continue north resulting in stormy weather in the region before typical summer weather returns later in the week.
Derrick Snyder, a forecaster from the National Weather Service in Paducah shared that the tropical storm will impact the region Tuesday . Snyder says they are expecting storms including winds of up to 25 MPH, heavy rain and possibly flash flooding in west Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois.
Two rounds of storms are projected to hit the region, the first round is set for early Tuesday morning and the second round is set for Tuesday afternoon and evening. Snyder says the second round is set to include more severe storm conditions and heavy rain.
Christian, Todd and Trigg counties are projected to receive around one to half an inch of rain and are not in the flash flood watch. However, Snyder says the rain levels are not set in stone.
Following the stormy weather, Snyder says toward the end of the week dry weather returns along with temperatures in the low 90s.
Then looking toward the 8-to-14-day outlook, Snyder says the high temperatures will remain in the 90s along with a chance for above average precipitation levels.
