To express appreciation for the work of local military members and first responders the Christian County Military Affairs Committee is hosting free admission days at the Western Kentucky State Fair and Bluegrass Splash Aquatic Center.
On June 26, Committee Director, Shannon Lane shared that active-duty military, first responders and their families can enter the Western Kentucky State Fair for free and receive discounted ride wristbands.
The committee will have a tent set up near the entrance of the fair where military and first responders can show their identification to receive free entry.
Later in the week from June 29 to June 30 the committee will host free entry days at Bluegrass Splash for active-duty military members and their families.
After serving around 22 years in the military, Lane says Christian County is one of the few places he has been that feels like home. By hosting these events for service-connected families, Lane says he hopes he can help make Christian County feel like home for them too.
More information about the committee’s free admission days can be found on Facebook at Christian County Military Affairs Committee.
