Members of the community gathered at the Hopkinsville Salvation Army’s Life Navigation Hub on Friday to celebrate corps officers Lindsey and Roger Galabeas for be promoted to the rank of captain and as well to bid farewell to their pair for the upcoming relocation.
The pair have served as corps officers for the Salvation Army for around five years and three of those years were spent at the Hopkinsville location. It takes five years of service for a Salvation Army corps officer to be promoted to the rank of captain and both Lindsey and Roger Galabeas say those years flew by.
Lindsey Galabeas says in Hopkinsville they have learned a lot about how to run a shelter and perform outreach. At the Nashville South Campus, she says they will be able to focus more on being pastors and hosting music, drama and dance programs for the youth.
Roger Galabeas says it has been a blessing to serve Hopkinsville, and feels confident passing the baton to Lieutenants David and Britney Donegan who are coming from Paducah.
On Sunday, Lindsey and Roger Galabeas will be on their way to Nashville.
