A man is facing charges after he allegedly shot at another vehicle during a road rage incident on the Pennyrile Parkway Tuesday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the area of the 18-mile-marker of the Pennyrile Parkway for reports of shots fired. The victim reported that they were being followed by a man who had allegedly fired gun shots at their vehicle.
Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop at the 11-mile-marker and contact was made with 74-year-old Daniel Coffman, who allegedly admitted to firing a weapon, but that he had aimed into the air to scare the victims.
Investigation by a Hopkinsville Police Department officer who had assisted in the traffic stop revealed a bullet hole in the bumper of the victim’s vehicle, contradicting Coffman’s statement.
Coffman was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
