Pennyrile Electric is welcoming members and giving out goodies at several member appreciation events in the coming days.
The first one was held Monday in Cadiz and Public Information Officer Brent Gilkey says they had a tremendous turnout, seeing over 1,000 of their members there. They’ll be back at it in Hopkinsville Wednesday starting at 8 a.m. at 2000 Harrison Street, where members can get some ice cream, lights bulbs and other goodies.
After that, they’ll be in Elkton on Friday at 421 South Main Street, Russellville on June 17 on John Paul Avenue and in Lewisburg on June 19 on North Main Street—Gilkey says at each event, members will be entered into a drawing to win gift cards.
Gilkey says this is perfect timing for these events, after the trouble caused for both members and lineman alike when severe weather rolled through the region, knocking down hundreds of power poles and putting members in the dark. He says it was a hard-fought battle against downed trees and poles, but they worked as quickly as the could to get the lights back on.
