A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on KY 272 in Christian County Saturday afternoon.
According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, it happened around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of KY 272 and KY 164 when a motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Derrick Johnson of Hopkinsville collided with the back of a vehicle that was stopped in traffic.
Investigation determined that Johnson had been quickly approaching the vehicle and appeared to not have enough to time to stop—he laid the motorcycle down but was ejected.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Coroner. No one in the other vehicle were injured.
