A three-vehicle collision on the Pennyrile Parkway resulted in minor injuries on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, vehicles operated by Anthony McGowan of Hopkinsville and Glenda Routson of Hopkinsville were merging north onto the Pennyrile Parkway at the 6-mile marker.
After merging, McGowan attempted to merge into the left lane to pass Routson, but reportedly saw a vehicle operated by a teenager driving out of a ditch and into the left lane. The teenager reportedly told law enforcement that their car was in the ditch because McGowan had overtaken their lane.
McGowan reportedly attempted merging back into the right lane but sideswiped Routson’s vehicle sending her off the right side of the roadway. When the teenager’s vehicle came back onto the roadway McGowan’s vehicle reportedly struck theirs which resulted in the vehicle spinning sideways into the ditch on the right side of the road and overturning at least once.
Three of the passengers in teenager’s vehicle were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for minor injuries.
