Clarksville Fire Rescue rescues motorist from high water

Clarksville Fire Rescue had to conduct a water rescue on Tuesday when a motorist tried to drive through high water caused by heavy rains.

It happened around 5 p.m. on Tuesday and crews from three stations responded to the intersection of Ashbury Road and Shanee Terr for a vehicle trapped in high water. Preliminary investigation revealed that the barricade had been moved—not by the driver of the trapped vehicle—and the motorist attempted to ford through the water.

His vehicle became disabled during the crossing and he called for help.  Rescuers were able to boat out to him and retrieve him from the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
