Kentucky State Police are searching for two suspects involved in a high-speed pursuit in Hart County where a law enforcement officer fired a firearm.
According to a news release, troopers were operating a traffic safety checkpoint in Hart County, where they encountered a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Anthony Manning of Hopkinsville, where he allegedly fled from the checkpoint. Officers pursued and speeds reached up to 130 miles per hour and officers eventually lost sight of the vehicle and had to call of the pursuit.
Later that night—on Friday—deputies with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle, where Manning and an unknown passenger fled on foot. The unknown suspected brandished a handgun and a deputy fired a gun before losing sight of them in a wooded area.
There was no evidence to suggest that either suspect sustained injuries and no deputies were injured. Neither suspect were located.
A warrant has been issued for Manning—he is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
