Carnival rides, vendors, stage shows and live music took over Oak Grove’s War Memorial Walking Trail Park for day one of the 17th annual Spring into Summer Salutes Fort Campbell Festival on Saturday.
Scarlett Mayfield from the Oak Grove Tourism Commission shared that the festival saw a big turnout and attendees enjoyed this year’s new stage shows, the Ninja Experience and the Pompeyo Dog Show.
Mayfield says they were also excited to have Bret Michaels, the frontman of the band Poison, as their live music act which was a shift from tradition because the festival typically features country artists.
Attendees packed the Viceroy Amphitheater and rocked out with Michaels as he sang some of his most popular songs and even played a bit of harmonica. The concert ended with a fireworks show.
Day two of the festival has been canceled because of inclement weather.
