Oak Grove’s annual Spring into Summer Salutes Fort Campbell Festival kicks off this Saturday and Scarlett Mayfield from the Oak Grove Tourism Commission appeared on WHOP to share all the fun they have in store for the community.
2024 marks the 17th year the commission has hosted the festival and this year; Mayfield says the rides and vendors open to the public on Saturday at noon and concludes at 9 p.m. with a firework show. Festivities resume on Sunday at noon and close at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, Bret Michaels, the frontman of the band Poison, will be the headlining act and will take to the stage at 7 p.m. Mayfield says the concert gates open at 3 p.m. and advises for those eager to see Michaels rock out to come early because the concert might get packed.
On Saturday and Sunday, Mayfield says they will have multiple showings of the Pompeyo Dog Show and the Ninja Experience Show. The Pompeyo family were contestants on America’s Got Talent and made it to the semi-finals with their dog show.
Mayfield says the Pompeyo Dog Show and the Ninja Experience Show will be hosted at different times for the attendees who want to see both.
Mayfield compares the Ninja Experience Show to the competition show, “American Ninja Warrior” and is excited to have them at the festival this year.
Mayfield also reminded listeners that the festival is free unless attendees want to shop at the vendor alley or buy food. More information about the upcoming festival is available at visitoakgroveky.com.
