The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has established a work zone lane restriction along Interstate 24 near the 58-mile marker in Trigg County.
According to a news release, all westbound traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone and motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic. This work zone will be taken down over the weekend when possible.
These restrictions are to allow state highway crews to remove the temporary gravel ramps that provided access to a concrete recycling site in the median at this location. KYTC personnel will mill up remaining gravel at the recycling area and haul it to a site on KY 1523 at the I-24 Exit 25 interchange where it will be used to construct a base for a new salt storage dome and equipment staging area.
Motorists should be alert for trucks entering and leaving the worksite and the work zone is expected to be in place for about three weeks, depending on weather.
