Winchester man arrested for evading officers, reckless driving

Remon Irving, age 48 of Winchester, was arrested on Saturday following a vehicle pursuit that reportedly started in Oak Grove and ended in Hopkinsville when police detained him after he crashed his motorcycle.

According to a report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, they received information from Oak Grove Police regarding the pursuit of three motorcycles that failed to stop for law enforcement. Hopkinsville Police located Irving, one of the motorcyclists, driving in a parking lot near East 21st Street.

Officers followed Irving and reported that he was driving on the wrong the side of the road almost striking other vehicles and ran two red lights on East 9th Street.

Officers attempted a box maneuver to stop Irving, but he allegedly drove through a grassy area off the roadway to evade them. Off of the road, Irving reportedly ran into a police vehicle which led to his motorcycle rolling over. Officers were then able to detain him.

Irving was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of police, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, possessing restricted ammo during a felony reckless driving, failure to signal, improperly on the left side of the road and improper passing. He was lodged at Christian County Jail after receiving medical clearance.

The Oak Grove Police Department was reportedly able to arrest one of the other motorcycle drivers.
