Chances for rain will last all week, with scattered storms possible on Tuesday—but luckily, no severe weather is really in the forecast for this week.
Meteorologist Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says the best chances for scattered storms and rain is on Tuesday, and someone somewhere may get a severe thunderstorm warning or two, but the severe threat is very minimal.
He says rain chances will linger into the weekend, but the week won’t be a total wash out—then our next chance for severe weather might materialize on Monday.
Speaking of severe weather, Gibbs says the May 8 event resulted in over 100 warnings going out from the Paducah office, whether that be for flooding, severe thunderstorms or tornadoes, which means it was the most the office has ever issued in a 24-hour period.
