This week’s Jennie Stuart Orthopedic – Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is Bradley Boyd.
Bradley is a senior at Heritage Christian Academy and is also a member of the Warrior baseball team.
So far this season Bradley has a .306 batting average, 15 hits, and leads his team in RBI with 17.
In his most recent game against Dawson Springs, he helped leads his team to a 13-2 win getting 2 hits, 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases.
As far as his baseball beginnings, Bradley says his love of sports came at an early age, and his desire to be outside and play encouraged the move to play baseball.
Boyd says the reason he has continued to play is because he enjoys seeing improvement from not only himself, but his teammates as well.
For Bradley, he has been on the HCA varsity baseball team since the 6th grade.
He talked about the growth and development that he has seen from then to now.
As far as his improvement just from last season to now, Boyd explained how hitting the weights and working on his leadership were some of his goals.
This season, Bradley says his leadership has improved, but he explained how he was able to get some practice in that role last year.
This year marks the first season that Heritage Christian is competing in the KHSAA.
As this is Bradley’s last year, he talked about how he has and is still working to contribute to the future of HCA athletics.
Lastly, Bradley was asked to reflect on one last question.
How do you want to be remembered as an Heritage Christian Academy student-athlete?
