Police arrest Hopkinsville man for unlawfully entering home

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 26-year-old Blake Turley of Hopkinsville for burglary after he reportedly forced his way into a residence and assaulted the occupant on Sunday.

According to a report, officers responded to a neighborhood on Jessup Avenue after they received a report that a man was trying to kick in people’s doors. Police then responded to a residence on the avenue that Turley reportedly gained access to.

The victim told officers that Turley allegedly kicked in the bottom of their door and crawled into the residence. An argument between Turley and the victim ensued and Turley reportedly pushed the victim through the door he kicked in resulting in injuries.

Following the incident, Turley was located on Oneal Avenue where he was taken into custody and charged with first-degree burglary and resisting arrest.
